I get that the internet is a crowded space and that you want to stand out. The good news? You can get noticed just by being yourself. Whether you’re naturally gregarious or a bit shy, the world wants to hear from the real you. Sure, there are different personalities out there but if you think being quiet means you can’t be heard, that’s simply untrue.
The truth is, once you hone your brand voice and refine your message – your audience will become more and more fine-tuned. And the dream clients you’re trying to reach will be listening. The problem is a lot of people don’t know how to put themselves out there, tonally. Check out my tips and tricks for honing your brand voice.
TAKE A PERSONALITY TEST
My favorite is the Enneagram but the Myers Briggs works well too. Either test will give you insight into your communication style. I highly recommend that new entrepreneurs take a personality test as it helps with everything from content creation to building a team. Knowing your communication style can make such a big difference in your business. Visit 16personalities.com to take a free Myers Briggs test.
CONNECT WITH LIKE-MINDED INDIVIDUALS
Not everyone is going to respond to your message. That’s true for even the top content creators. That’s why I don’t fear competition. Getting caught in comparison syndrome will only drag you down. You have to get clear on the fact that you will attract the most people by being yourself.
If you feel like you need a cheerleader, try to find someone with a similar communication style who can support you. It is absolutely critical to find common ground with your audience but the best way you can achieve that is by putting authentic messaging out there.
SHARE YOUR CONTENT
To broaden your reach, you have to have a system in place for sharing your content. I like to use a single piece of content and repurpose it in several different places. The more social media posts, email broadcasts etc. you have, the more people will be exposed to your style of content.
Besides, there’s nothing like seeing people respond to your post. It’s a total confidence booster and it will motivate you to produce even more
THE BEST WAY TO IMPROVE
I’m a firm believer that the best way to improve is to stay consistent with your content. You know the old adage, practice makes perfect. Well, I prefer action to perfection so start getting your voice out there. Both your audience and confidence will grow in time.
